Communication Studies Major

In the Communication Studies program, students gain relevant skills and knowledge so they can become informed professionals, citizens, and consumers in our contemporary world. Our diverse course offerings cover topics that include:

In this major, students learn skills in facilitating conversations about current events with diverse publics, conducting presentations, interpersonal communications, problem solving, collaborative teamwork, project management, critical thinking, commentary on the news and current events, and writing for diverse audiences.

Multimedia Major

The Multimedia program prepares students to position themselves in the fluid, evolving space of multimedia production—where they might be a filmmaker while also being a sound designer, or managing community relations for others who are doing these tasks. In this major, students gain insights and hands on experience in audio, video, animation, digital games, web and graphic design, and coding. In the final year of the degree, students develop a take-away multimedia project to highlight in their portfolios. In this major, students learn how to produce media art, work with media equipment, and design things for specific needs.
