David Ogborn chairs International Conference on Live Coding
The International Conference on Live Coding 2016 (ICLC 2016) came to McMaster in October, chaired by CSMM faculty member David Ogborn.
The event brought artists and researchers from around the world to Hamilton, with delegates from Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Four days of hands-on workshops, live coding performances (including by McMaster’s live coding laptop orchestra, the Cybernetic Orchestra), and research presentations took place at venues across the McMaster campus (including the LIVELab connected with the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind) and at several downtown Hamilton artist-run centres.
In addition to support from the Faculty of Humanities, CSMM, and numerous other McMaster units, the event received a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada through the Connections program.
The next International Conference on Live Coding (ICLC 2017) will take place in Morelia, Mexico. More information about the conference including the text and video proceedings are available here: http://iclc.livecodenetwork.org/2016
