Liss Platt, media artist and Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies and Multimedia, will take up a 5-week residency at Struts Gallery Faucet New Media Centre in Sackville, NB. to work on an experimental film project using an optical printer and hand processing 16mm colour reversal film. She is the recent recipient of a $15,000 grant from Ontario Arts Council for established visual artists. Hamilton area residents will have the opportunity to attend the screening of Liss’s documentary ‘Dark Horse Candidate’ on Friday, November 18th at 7:30 pm at The Cotton Factory, 270 Sherman St. North, Hamilton. ‘Dark Horse Candidate received the  ‘Audience Award’ at the recent Cinema Systers Film Festival in Paducah, KY (USA).
